Letz mint some ‘ka-ching’

*Morgan Stanley Pays off :D

We got Discover on holding stock (core position) and a great run for the short term flip at MS.

Trade position:

Buy Date : 06/06/07   at 85.76
Sell Date : 20/06/07   at 90.14

Our long core position remains to ride higher and get Discovery.

P.S. : This post has been modified on 6/22 to remove the confusion in the wording about the Discovery spin off. Thanks to srx for pointing that out.

  1. Are you sure you still have Discover after selling MS before July 2 ? There is a thread on yahoo finance on this and they seem to suggest you sell your DFS stock when you sell your MS… ( Personally, I didnt think that was the case – but they seemed to sound very convincing.. plus – it makes sense; otherwise, wouldn’t everyone be doing it ? )

  2. Hi Srx,
Thanks for the comment. May be we were not clear. It should have read we got discover on the long position and great run in few sessions on the short-term position. Sorry for the mis communication. About recieving …the thread you might be refering to will be accurate…considering that you get discover into your account IF AND ONLY IF you have MS shares in your account as of the record date and keep them until theyy allot you Discover..which I think is on 1st of July. Else you disqualify for Discover….we had to move our Short term position quickly…due to considerable factors…… But we have taken care to advice all our subscribers of email to hold on to it untill 2nd of July atleast if not farther.
Hope this clarifies. For better understanding ….you have details of MS-discover split here.
